Recontexualizing actual female role models as Disney Princesses

We've talked a lot this semester about appropriation, but not so much about recontexualization (p.171). I found this example and wanted to share.

Artist David Trumble has created a "World of Women" by recontexualizing 10 famous real life female role models as Disney princesses. It's a collaborative work with an educational psychologist, and the criticism is pointed and inescapable. (He did later update Anne Frank's princess title, due to reader input). The works were successful enough that the designs are now available for sale.
